John Accavitti for State Representative :: For Michigan's 32nd District

Home

Welcome to the John Accavitti campaign website.

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!
Wow, what a great campaign. I could not have done it without all of the support that I received from my family and friends – and of course the awesome people from the 32nd district! I love our great state, I love politics, and most of all I love people. I had no idea how much I would enjoy going door to door talking one on one with the people in our community. If I don’t make it to your door step and you want to meet with me – please call. Nothing is more important than hearing the opinions and concerns of my constituents.
Galen Johnson – you’re a class act!!! Thanks for your support as I go on to the general election!

On to victory and a prosperous Michigan!  John Accavitti

Uniquely qualified to serve the people of Michigan’s 32nd district

Having experience in both the corporate world and in public service makes me uniquely qualified to serve the people of Michigan’s 32nd district.

During a twenty-five year business career, I worked my way from stock boy at a corner market to General Manager of a multi-million dollar a year warehouse club and then to executive the hard way: by demonstrating strong performance. I gained my success through a willingness to do challenging jobs others turned down, an ability to balance the books, make payrolls, keep employees inspired, and to ensure customer satisfaction. I have a proven track record of transforming failing organizations into strong business successes.

As a business development executive with Sprint Nextel, business owners sought my council and invested in my ideas to grow their companies. Consulting small business owners, I worked closely with decision makers to locate and develop new opportunities across Michigan and northern Ohio, growing more than 100 new stores in six years and helping to create hundreds of new jobs. I have experience in building alliances, earning trust, and delivering results.

I believe in “public service”, not “self service”

In April of 2001, I enlisted and graduated basic training at the age of thirty-five when most people would be ending their military careers.

At the age of forty-one I earned an appointment at Warrant Officer Candidate School, competing against cadets almost half my age.  I graduated and was commissioned on April 17, 2007.

Today, I am proud to be a member of the Michigan Army National Guard serving the 46th Military Police Command as an Intelligence Officer.

Currently I work as a contracted Intelligence Analyst at the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center (MIOC) in Lansing and as a Liaison Officer to the Michigan High Intensity Drug Traffic Area (HIDTA) office in Detroit. As a Liasison Officer, I fuse critical intelligence between several branches of law enforcement including the FBI, Border Patrol, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security, Michigan State Police, and many local police agencies.

While working as a contractor for the State of Michigan, I have learned how to successfully navigate the bureaucracy of Lansing to get things done.
